Edgehill Avenue's first release on Departure Records marks a tremendous step forward for a band determined to do things the right way.  Listeners may be familiar with the more acoustic guitar-based sound from their self-titled and self-released EP in 2007 which received generous airplay on 91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville and on various internet outlets worldwide.  With "Rambler" though, the band shows growth not only in the songwriting but in the production of a record that features more of a rock n' roll feel. Produced by William Bartley and recorded at Downtown Studios over a period of several months in 2008, this is a record that shows the grit and determination of a band that played every gig they could get their hands on starting in November of 2006.  "We felt it was hugely important to play live as much as possible, that's really the best way to learn to play as a band and to work on our craft", says Drew Perkins. That hard work has paid off handsomely with a fantastic sounding record that seeks to capture the energy of a band that shines in the live setting including ten songs ranging from standard themes of love and loss to more socially conscious topics like abolitionism and genocide.
